Made in Chelsea Season 7 Episode 7 - Recap

Made in Chelsea Season 7 Episode 7 Recap - Episode Summary

Well, what an episode! Just when you don't think Alex can do any more wrong (or maybe we did but at least hoped he wouldn't!) he only goes and has an ORGY with Spencer Matthews and a ton of "ladies" (I use the term ladies very loosely!) Poor Binks, I feel so sorry for her. As a girl who's had her heartbroken before, I can relate not only to the pain she is going through, but also the feeling of love and hate when you see or think of that person.

When Binky says to Alex early in the episode 'Those 4 times are the 4 times only' in regards to how much he'd cheated on her, I'm sure she knows in her head how ridiculous that sounds. Love makes you forgive people for doing you wrong and Binky is a kind person who wanted to believe him. Sigh.

I have to say that I agree with Binky that the best and most supportive friends through this time were Louise and Rosie, and that is because they completely let Binks make her own decisions and respected her for taking Alex back no matter how stupid it may have been. Lucy, Cheska and Fran all practically demanded Binks do as they say, and 'be strong' and leave him, which only pushed her to stay with him & prove them wrong even more. I don't think it's cool that friends go behind your back gossiping and acting like bloody detectives hunting for more evidence to back themselves up and break up a relationship. Yes they were looking out for Binky to an extent because they knew Alex was a knob, but they have to let her learn, and not meddle in a relationship that has nothing to do with them.

Oh and finally on the Binks topic, how quick was Jamie to tell Lucy everything, you could tell the whole episode he wanted to drop that bombshell he just finally came out with it in the end. Jamie is like Spencer, can't keep quiet about anything, and if there's a secret you know you shouldn't tell Jamie as it won't be a secret for long!

Now let's lighten the mood and talk about some other people in this episode...did anyone else cringe when Sam brought those two girls (toff and christi-something-or-other), out on a date. OF COURSE Spencer would have got with the girl Sam was after, how is he so clueless that Spencer has any moral obligation to anyone. Spencer is out for himself, and even if he wasn't that bothered about the girl he would see her as a challenge because Sam wanted to be with her. The saddest part about it is that this girl was on the show for literally two minutes, and now she's just another girl who will be known as Spencer's conquest. I wasn't really a fan of her or of Toff (stupidest nickname ever!), especially as Sam and Spencer were bickering at the table about how Spencer couldn't 'go there again' with her, and she just sat there like an idiot not even demanding they respect her! Gross.

This episode was packed with drama, revelations, deceit and a big old slap, as well as Sam throwing his drink on Spencer, ("Boom.") I literally cannot wait until the next episode, although my jaw dropped when I saw Stevie getting with Stephanie...WHAT IS HE DOING!?! I thought he was a good guy, and I love Riley, but you know when guys start getting more interest from girls they all act like knobs.

Do you agree with what I've said? Do you think Lucy was only looking out for Binks? What did you make of Stevie kissing Stephanie in next weeks episode? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Lots of Love,

Samantha Dawn

How to Dye Your Hair At Home

Hello,

Edit: FYI, The hair dye I use has changed names and is now called SB1 Summer Blonde

Today I want to share with you the reasons why I dye my hair at home and some tips if you want to do the same.

From the moment I was born I had really blonde hair, to the point that if I had been out playing in the sun it was almost white from being bleached by the sun!

Growing up you just don't think that your hair colour will change, but I found that as I reached my 20's my hair started to go darker and darker. My natural colour now is a dark blonde/light brown colour, and I really don't think it suits me as much as a lighter blonde, which is why I dye my hair! I know it sounds odd but I actually get depressed with darker hair, I need my lighter blonde colour to feel happier, when I see my roots creeping back through I hate it and get really fed up!

The main reason I dye my hair at home is to save money, you can buy a box of hair colour for around £5, and in the UK there are usually offers on so that you can buy 2 for £10 or less - and as I have super long hair I have to use two boxes at once so this works out great for me. If you were to go to a salon and get the same dye put on by a stylist, you'd probably get charged £100+, which to me is a LOT of money when you can do the same job at home. I've been dying my hair at home now for about 8 years, which is a long time to be continually bleaching your hair, so I have a lot of experience as well as tips on looking after bleached hair.

How to Dye Your Hair at Home

Before you even consider dying your hair for the first time I must stress that you need to put a bit of thought into going about this if you want it to go right! A lot of people skip this point but it is SO important to do a skin test 24 hours prior to actually using a hair dye for the first time. You are meant to do a skin test every time you use a dye, but as I use the same dye and have done for years I don't do this now.

The reason why you need to do a skin test is that some people can get a bad reaction to the chemicals in the dye, and it can cause burning of the skin and even in some very serious cases people have died from doing this! I could link you to photos of peoples reactions to the dyes, but I think they are too disgusting to show you! I'm not trying to scare anyone but I just don't want to brush past this point without emphasising the importance of a skin test! It's really simple to do, you just get a cotton bud (aka q tip), and you dip it into the dye, then apply it to your arm and leave it on for 24 hours to make sure you don't react to the chemicals in the dye.

Before you've even bought your dye you want to decide on the right colour for you, as well as whether to use permanent or semi permanent dye. Don't forget even semi permanent dyes can be difficult to remove, read my post on My Hair Disaster - How To Remove Semi Permanent Hair Dye, where you can see how I struggled to sort my hair out after using a seemingly harmless semi permanent dye. You also need to think that if you have dark hair and dye it blonde it is more difficult than dying blonde hair a darker colour, so if you're dark and want to go blonde your first attempt at bleaching may turn your hair orange, so it's always good to have a spare bottle of dye to hand! As a final tip I would suggest that when you dye your hair for the first time make sure you have plenty of time and don't do it just before you're going out for the night, in case it goes wrong!

Now the dye I use is Clairol's Nice and Easy Summer Blonde SB1 , you can read my review on that here. I've found that Clairol is the best brand for me, however you may favour a different brand, especially if you are going for a less natural colour.

This is the old box Natural Baby 101, new name is SB1 Summer Blonde

I'm not going to go through each step of instructions on dying your hair, as that is what the instruction leaflet in your dye is for, and each one is different. Usually you have to leave the dye on for anywhere from 25 minutes to 45 minutes, usually depending on the amount of time you need, for example if you are touching up on a previous dye job you may not need the full 45 minutes.

A good tip prior to application is to dress in an old t-shirt, and if you have a spare bin liner cut it in half and wrap it around your shoulders, securing it with either an elastic band, hair tie or hair clip. Similarly, if you have an old towel and a hair band, just wrap your towel around your shoulders and use your hair tie to secure the towel around your shoulders - this is what I tend to do because I'm too lazy to get a bin liner!

When applying your dye to your hair make sure you are wearing your gloves so as not to get the dye on your hands, as the dye can also colour your skin and be difficult to remove. If you do get the colour on your skin it should wash off after a few days; you can always buy hair dye colour remover skin wipes if you urgently want to remove it. What I would also suggest if you are worried about getting dye onto your skin is using vaseline around the edges of your forehead just before you get to the hairline, so that if the dye does run onto your forehead it will easily wash off. I think this can be very useful if you are dying your hair a darker colour, when bleaching your hair lighter it isn't such a problem.

Some people suggest that you comb your hair through whilst the dye is in, in order to get a thoroughly covered dye job. I don't agree with this as brushing your hair when wet can really damage your hair, as well as ruin your hairbrush!

Remember dying your hair at home can be a bit of a messy job, sometimes you may think you've been really good at not spilling any dye and then once the dye has set you realise there are loads of blobs of darkened dye around the bathroom! Cover up or remove any items you don't want to get ruined, especially bath mats or towels!

Once you have left your dye on for the required amount of time you are going to want to rinse off the dye and apply the conditioner. The conditioner provided in your dye kit is usually an extra special conditioner that will give your hair the best care after dying, so I would definitely suggest leaving it in for at least five minutes to help soften and condition your hair properly.

Then when you have removed the conditioner, either towel dry or blow dry your hair, it's always best to towel dry your hair to keep your hair healthier, but I know that when you want to check the dye has worked blow drying is quicker!

When your hair is dry you can check it over and make sure you are happy with the colour you've got, and then you can go about styling your hair! I re-dye my hair every 6-8 weeks, so you will probably have to dye it again then.

Here is a photo of my hair after dying:

I hope this blog post helped you, let me know how you get on with dying your hair for the first time, i'd love to hear about what colour you used and how it went!

Lots of love,

Samantha Dawn

How to Grow Long Hair Fast

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all well and having a good week.
It's been a while since I've written a beauty post and I've missed writing them! Today I wanted to focus on something that a lot of people ask me about when they see how long my hair is, and that is how can you get long hair fast.

Before I go into my tips to get long hair fast, I want to explain a little of my 'hair history!' I was always one of those girls who had her hair cut fairly short. Growing up, my mum would cut my hair - I'm not sure WHY I ever agreed to this as she's not even trained, but I think it was most likely because it was free, she insisted she was good at it and my sisters did the same. Anyway, my mum would cut my hair into some awful styles, and it would be really short and I hated it.

As I went through school I basically stuck with the same shoulder length hairstyle, and whenever I would go to the hair salon I would ask for the same cut each time, it was like an endless cycle of awful hair and I didn't even realise it was all down to my own doing!

Here are some photos of me when my hair wouldn't grow past this length, but the reason for that was that I would try to grow it but end up impatiently cutting it again:

When I got to the age where I wanted to go out to clubs or bars, I would be desperate for long hair and wish I'd never cut it. I mean some people really suit short hair, Frankie from The Saturdays springs to mind, and I am just not one of those people. To me long hair is just so feminine and can really make you stand out from the crowd - take celebrities like Kim Kardashian - I don't think she'd have the same sex appeal if she had short hair, and who didn't want Jennifer Anniston's hair back when she was on FRIENDS. (Please note: I'm not putting down short hair, that can be sexy too, I'm just saying it's not for everyone!x)

So to get me through this need for long hair i embraced the world of extensions, and as I couldn't really afford to get them done at a hairdressers I used to put them in myself - clip-ins, glue, and I even got a friend to stitch them in! I got it wrong a LOT of the time, sometimes I'd cut the extensions and then the next time forget which piece went where and have a mix of different lengths (I cringe to think I went out like that!) Here are some pics of me with my hair extensions in:

If you want your hair to grow fast in a week then you'll have to go with hair extensions, which are a quick fix while you wait for your hair to grow! Now my hair is long, thick and all natural so I don't need to use extensions; in fact it's so long it's probably too long!

So without further ado, I want to tell you how I grew my hair long and what you can do to get your hair growing! Some of these points are unisex, so if you're a man looking to grow out your hair, these tips should help you too!

Tips to Get Long Hair Fast

  • A good diet is essential. I don't mean that you need to change your diet and eat salad every day, but some foods really increase the speed your hair will grow. Protein is a vital food as it is full of amino acids, and these amino acids speed up hair growth! You can get protein in lean meat, eggs, nuts, beans and soy product. It's also good to get Zinc (e.g lean meat, poultry, chickpeas, peanut butter), and Iron (e.g eggs, lean meats, poultry, lentils, beans tofu), which give you healthy strong hair that won't break. Also let's not forget how important it is to drink water, which hydrates your hair making it healthy and less likely to break off!

  • If you wash your hair every day you are going to have to stop doing that! I went through a bad habit of washing my hair each day or it went greasy. You know why that was? Because washing it each day had stripped my hair of any natural oils resulting in it getting greasy really quick! If you are worried about coping with greasy hair in the intervals, this will only happen for a very short period, plus you can read my post on Greasy Hair Quick Fix Tip! Washing your hair every day results in unhealthy hair, that won't be able to grow properly, so ideally you should be washing it up to 3-4 times a week. I wash my hair every other day or sometimes I leave it a couple of days if I don't have plans to go anywhere!

  • Staying on the similar subject of washing you hair...NEVER brush through your hair when it's wet. This is such an awful thing to do because it damages your hair so much, and not only that but it pulls so much hair from the roots resulting in less hair growing overall, and a lot of hairs having to start growing again! Wait until your hair is dry before running a brush through it, and if you need to get rid of tangles, buy a tangle spray to help you not rip out a load of your precious hair in the process!

  • Styling is the next big point I need to make. This is something I really cut out over the last year, and I guess a lot of it has to do with being a mum and having little time to style my hair, but cutting out a lot of my styling has resulted in my hair growing really long really fast! Now with styling I am mainly talking about using a hair straightener, or curler. These hot hair tools can damage your hair so much, sometimes if your tools are too hot you can singe your hair resulted in it dying and not growing any more at the ends. I know you're probably gripping hold of your GHD's now and telling them you'll never leave them, but I was exactly the same, I'd straighten my hair EVERY DAY, just because it looked nice, but I had no idea what it was doing to my hair. If you really can't let go of the styling tools altogether, how about cut down on using them. If you don't need to straighten your hair one day don't, and if you've got time to let your hair dry naturally, do. It will benefit you in the long run, and your hair will feel so much softer and in better condition for being left alone! If you must use tools, make sure you have some heat defence hair spray to use beforehand!

  • When I say Vitamin C you probably would think more about this benefiting your immune system, but actually Vitamin C is great at not letting your hair become dry or damaged, meaning it will grow quicker! If you aren't a big orange lover, get the Vitamin C dissolving tablets, they'll make your hair grow quicker and keep your immune system working at it's best - and they're tasty!

  • Hair ties! Now to me there is nothing better than tying my hair into a pony tail on a daily basis, especially with my long hair and my sons loving to grab at it! However if like me you have to use hair ties, maybe try and at least cut down the amount you use them, for example because I tie my hair up a lot in the day I make sure at night when I sleep I don't have it tied up. I also always make sure my hair is dry after I've washed it before putting in a hair tie, otherwise it can wrap around your elastic band and you can really struggle to get your hair free from the band!

  • Trim your hair to remove all split ends and keep your hair growing! When the ends of your hair are split your hair isn't going to grow, so just get some scissors and snip the ends off. I don't mean inches off, I mean just a little amount, you may even be able to see where your hairs are splitting at the ends and just cut above that. If you're not brave, go to the hairdressers and be strict on just wanting a trim- although I don't trust hairdressers with that, as every time I used to ask for a trim I'd come back with inches missing from the ends! The one thing you don't want to do when trying to grow your hair is have your hairdresser cut it all off! One of my top ways of growing my hair was just by cutting out the hairdresser altogether (for at least A YEAR! - I'm not even kidding), just so that I could grow my hair quicker!

  • Use a good shampoo and conditioner! It doesn't have to be a really expensive one, although Liz Earle have some excellent shampoo and conditioning products, but it just has to make your hair feel good after. If you're on a budget I would recommend the L'oreal Elvive range, they are usually on offer too so you can get the shampoo and conditioner together at a reduced price. I am currently using a Kerastase Shampoo and Pantene Conditioner, although I switch it up all the time.

  • My last point is something you may not want to hear, but it is the fact that you have to BE PATIENT. For years I didn't get why my hair wasn't growing quick enough, but it was because after so many weeks or months I would get fed up and go to the hair salon and get a cut! Your hair is going to grow but you have to leave it alone so it can do that!!! The more you get it cut, even just a trim, can really set back how much time you will have to wait to see results! There were times when I was so desperate for a cut as I was so bored of my hair that I had the hairdressers number dialled into my mobile, and I'd be ready to book an appointment for a trim. However I used to satisfy my need for change with either a new hair colour, a new hair style (go on YouTube and find a tutorial!), or as I mentioned at the start of this post I would use extensions - and they really did get me through the my-hair-won't-grow phase!

I hope some, if not all, of these points helped you on your quest for growing longer hair fast. I'd love to hear how you get on, or if you have any tips that I didn't mention; leave me a comment below and let me know. :)

Hope you all have had a great week, and have a fantastic weekend!

Lots of love,

Samantha Dawn

Shop and Tell - Deals, Voucher Codes, Competitions Website!

Hi guys,

I recently started a project to create a website that would bring customers not only voucher codes and the latest special offers, but would allow customers to shop by free delivery, and view and compare exactly what special offer they are after. Not only that but I love entering competitions, and wanted to share the latest competitions available across all retailers!

I created my website called Shop and Tell, which was originally going to be a place where customers could write reviews when shopping, however I wanted it to be more than that and so I instead allowed customers to be able to shop by their favourite deal such as free delivery, voucher codes, sale, or special offers.

At the moment I'm just focusing on Fashion, and you can select which special offer you can shop by, you can also view all free current competitions running and easily enter them through our website! :)

I hope you check out the website and let me know what you think of it :) I will keep updating my blog but if you're wondering what else I'm doing then this is what's keeping me busy! :)

Check out my Website Shop and Tell now!

Lots of love,

Samantha Dawn
